Profile

My latest work is an exploration into line, edge, and texture and the psychological effect on the viewer when the work is encapsulated and unable to be touched. This work utilises man-made, engineered materials in common usage, which may be discarded by many as the by-products of packaging.
Using traditional techniques that use the repetitive, hypnotic rhythm of the stitch which
provide a harmonious chord linking tradition and innovation.
The repetitive process in which the work is created speaks of an almost meditative
state of moving from one point to another, traveling around the form, familiarising
and de-familiarising within a given space. The slow gradual build of thread winding
around the form becomes an unconscious extension of the maker’s hand.
My work often involves print, stitch and photography.
