Colourways workshops

Date:03/07/2006 - 05/07/2006

The TFSW Colourways workshops were held in Falmouth, Cornwall from 3-5th July 2006 as part of a range of events planned by TFSW for 2006 which began with the conference Colour Story with Zandra Rhodes.

The workshops offered 3 days of hands on experience with textiles, with Crafts Council selected makers Janet Stoyel and Carole Waller amongst the tutors. New technology applications such as photoshop and digital printing for textiles, and the opportunity to explore cutting, marking and bonding fabrics using laser technology were offered, alongside more traditional approaches such as screen printing, hand painting fabrics and felt making.

The workshops attracted a broad range of textile practitioners, including lecturers, teachers and conservators, all of whom appreciated the opportunity to immerse themselves in 3 full days of uninterrupted textile practice! Many people appreciated the dialogue with tutors and other partcipants as a key part of the workshop experience, sharing ideas and seeing how other makers approached and solved textile problems. TFSW also held a series of critical theory workshops and creative leather & sheepskin workshops during 2006.
