TEXTILE FOOTPRINT
Textile Forum South West's fourth conference explores ethical investment in the practice of textiles. It will be a timely look at issues surrounding ecological and sustainable use of materials. The keynote speaker will be Kate Fletcher author of ‘Sustainable Fashion and Textiles, Design Journeys'
Other speakers will include Mary Schoeser author of ‘World Textiles' and ‘Silk' talking about the days of ‘make do and mend' and John Arbon from Coldharbour Mill, Devon on his vision for environmental textiles in the south west. Jenny Ambrose of ‘Enamore' gives an insight into her ethically and sustainably run South West based business, designing and manufacturing organic lingerie with a new twist on the modern ‘Pin Up'
A representative from Traidcraft will be promoting its work and textile artist Susie Vickery will be talking about the inspiration she finds from her work with refugee development projects in Mumbai . As a complete contrast Serena de la Hey sculptor in willow will give a presentation about her work, which includes large vessels and the Somerset ‘Willow Man'
